Prakash Chandra Giri
Prakash Chandra Giri is the Principal at Goodwill Activity School and an English Lecturer at Gupteshwor Mahadev Multiple Campus, Pokhara . He is a good IELTS instructor. He is a research scholar at Nepal Open University, Kathmandu, Nepal. He was awarded by British Council in 2017 for bringing international dimension in the local curriculum. He was involved as an English Access Mircro-Scholarship instructor for about four years in Nepal. He is a well trained and experienced educator. He is a TESOL certified English Teacher .He is a life member of Nepal English Language Teachers’ Association (NELTA) . He has done E-teacher course on Professional Development for Teacher Trainers validated by Arizona State University, USA. He has done Online training course on Teaching Local Language Literacy and a Second Language Teacher Training organized by Literacy International, TULSA, USA. He has presented papers at different regional, national and international conferences and has written different feature and research articles. He loves to explore qualitative research and Open source software system. He is very positive, confident person. Teaching is in his blood.

Mentoring English Learners Beyond the Formal Classrooms
The presenter will demonstrate the effectiveness of Mentoring . The definition, examples, roles of mentoring and its scope will be discussed . In fact, mentoring is relational experience in which a person empowers another by sharing resources. It is a process in which a mentor, who knows or has experienced something, transfers that something (resources of wisdom, information, experience, confidence, insight, relationships, status, etc.) to a mentoree, at an appropriate time and manner, so that it facilitates development or empowerment. It is to help and encourage people to manage their own learning in order that they may maximize their potential, develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be. Likewise in the field of Teaching and learning process, the development of English language skills has become the challenging job for both learners and teachers. The teacher can teach English language beyond the classroom. This presentation proves that the mentoring individual learner beyond the formal classroom as the most effective strategy with some observations . Finally, the presenter himself also will show some testimonies , examples and activities for general discussion on how he could elevate the hostel students’ English by mentoring . In that mentoring, the fellowship, Bible study and some verses of Bible were conducted .
